Links to live stats - Tennessee and TCU have grabbed the dubs point in their respective matches and singles just started

US times
TCU vs. Kentucky, 4 p.m. sidearmstats.com/illinois/mten/
Baylor vs. Tennessee, 4 p.m. sidearmstats.com/illinois/wten/
Michigan vs. Ohio State, 8 p.m.
Virginia vs. Florida, 8 p.m.

Thanks EP - remind us how the scoring works. The six singles are best of 3 sets and count a point each? And doubles are one set matches and whichever team gets 2 of the 3 doubles get an extra point to add to the singles? So 7 points in all?

and they call it a match when one team reaches 4 points so it is always 4-X? As opposed to never being 5,6 or 7 to X?

hope Ive remembered correctly !

From what I can tell Tennessee and Kentucky and thus Johannus Munday and Millen Hurrion are into the last 4 with their teams?

Quarterfinals in the 2022 DI men's tennis championship have come to a close - plenty of complaints about the late scheduling of matches and I there were some rain delays.

Thursday brought two massive upsets with No. 8 Kentucky (Millen Hurrion) taking down No. 1 TCU (Jake Fearnley and Lui Maxted) and No. 6 Tennessee (Jo Munday, Emile Hudd) besting No. 3 Baylor (Finn Bass).

Here are the results:  full championship bracket https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/tennis-men/d1/2022

Kentucky 4, TCU 3
Tennessee 4, Baylor 3
Ohio State 4, Michigan 2
Virginia  4 Florida 1

The Gators have five players ranked in singles Shelton (2), Riffice (28), Vale (115), Andrade (117) and Josh Goodger (119)  Apparently Floridas Josh Goodger put up a good fight and was 6-5 up in the third set when the match went unfinished

Here are the semifinal matchups, which will be played Saturday, May 21 (all times are EST):

So 3 Brits playing in the semis:
No. 4 Ohio State vs. No. 8 Kentucky (Hurrion) 11 a.m.
No. 6 Tennessee (Munday, Hudd) vs. Virginia

I am hoping for a Kentucky vs Tennessee final  smile

Cool - and I see Emile Hudd is also in the last 4 teams, we have 3 players to cheer.

Semis are Saturday I see, is the final Sunday?

Womens team semis are North Carolina v Texas and Duke v Oklahoma, no British interest left as far as I can tell.

For anyone hoping to follow the D1 NCAA Championships try using the links provided by CTR (College Tennis Ranks) as apparently the TennisOne App has been poor, with loss sound, scoring slow to update etc

Kentucky head to the finals and will play Tennessee or Virginia tomorrow

After losing the doubles point, Kentucky defeated Ohio 4-1. #83 Hurrion had an easy 6-1, 6-2 win at no 3 singles.

Tennessee has also lost the doubles point, can they pull off a win to meet Kentucky in the finals? Jo Munday is currently ina first set tie break and Emile Hudd has lost the first set 5-7

sidearmstats.com/illinois/mten/

No. 83 Millen Hurrion started his first set with fierce determination, creating early separation after a 6-1 result heading into the second set against No. 19 Tracy. Much like Diallo, the fifth year was able to maintain his strong play and claimed a win with a 6-2 second set. He was able to win deuce points at different moments throughout the second set to keep his opponent at bay. The victory marked the highest-ranked opponent Hurrion has defeated this year and gave UK a 2-1 lead.

The Vols run comes to an end with a 0-5 defeat,  however five members of Tennessee's squad have earned bids to the NCAA singles and doubles with Brits Jo Munday in the Singles and senior Emile Hudd will compete for the Doubles Championship.

Looks like Virginia took the opening set in all the singles and have won one already .

Hard to see Tennessee winning ?

Well done Kentucky though and Millen Hurrion to follow in the final !

Looking like Virginia well in control of the final

Millen may well win his singles though but the team is going to find it hard to turn this around.

Millen +1 also lost the doubles against Virginias 28 year old hmm Bar Botzer + 1..

Up next are the individual tournaments

Singles draw Davis and Fery in the same half of the draw as Shelton (#1) and Dostanic. Munday in the same half as Rodrigues (#2) Stewart and Draxl (#4).

Allegedly Draxls (UK) behaviour was less than exemplary in the team competition. Munday has allegedly been out for 4 weeks of this semester with a foot injury, so hoping he is fully recovered.

Just to check, EP, (and sorry if you've said so already above) but is this singles event the same one that Paul Jubb won?
