Another early exit for Marni unfortunately. I saw Cadar lose 0-6 0-6 to Vic Allen at Sunderland a couple of years ago. She was actually on the same bus from the city centre to the venue, but I didn't know it was her.

Marni was someone I had in mind for the UK Pro Series as someone a bit more interesting to watch. Normally I'd prefer them to be chasing points while they are on offer, and 7 matches in 7 days could have pretty demanding considering her recent injuries, but could have maybe acted as a confident boost as she's not had much joy in her trips to Egypt.

I didnt realise she was still in Egypt. She does really seem to be struggling at this level. I have spent a lot of time in Spain over the past few years but never been at a tournament whilst Marni has been playing. However I have spoken to various Spanish coaches who Rate her as being the girl in British tennis with the most potential. The question is will she fulfil her potential in the UK??
I dont suppose anybody knows where her parents live? I believe she was at Bolton Arena as a child but I have been told her father is from Manchester and thats where she lives.

Doubles

L16:- Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (JPN) CR828 (337+491) [2] v Tamira Paszek (AUT) /  Beatrice Ricci (ITA) UNR (UNR+UNR/1061)

Paszek had a CH93 for doubles in 2013 and 26 in singles, also in 2013. She is only 30 now, and has missed quite a few months over the last couple of years. Her partner is 19 years old.

Edit: - rankings added

Surprising Olivia Nicholls decided to pull out last week and go to Loughborough leaving Lissey having to team up with Lily instead.

If she'd travelled, and they won the doubles, that would be $1600 dollars each (about 1150 pounds), less travel and expenses. She can hopefully beat that in Loughborough, given the appearance fee of £500 as a minimum cheque.

I see, I thought though she and Lissey were "going steady" as a doubles partnership.

Well they played two tournaments together in February 2020, and two in November. Liv played several tournaments in the autumn with different partners though, but has been injured, so probably hasn't been able to play muchas she would like.

Could be tough in the QF - two highly ranked juniors

QF:- Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (JPN) CR828 (337+491) [2] v Yeonwoo Ku (KOR) / Priska Madelyn Nugroho (INA) UNR (UNR/751/JR49 + UNR/1176/JR13) (18 and 17 years old)

How come Sharm never seems to be streamed anywhere?

Lissey is playing Lily (Yuriko Lily Miyazaki, seeded 3) in R1 of the main draw

And Matilda Mutavdzic is playing Sekulic (GER), seeded 8
