Week 10 - ITF M15 - Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt (hard)

Obviously covid has affected ease of getting to tournaments and tournament selection, and whether players feel comfortable travelling. However, I also think some players absolutely love playing tennis matches and want to do lots. But some players are less like this despite being very good at it. It's possible that some players, I dont mean anyone on this thread in particular, get to a level and sort of protect it, not playing lower level tournaments where you would expect them to win quite a few matches and gain confidence. If you always stretch to play at the highest tournament you can get into there is a big risk of losses leading to lack of match practice and lack of confidence.

Well, given that was a HUGE ask, young Ali didn't do too badly:

L32: (WC) Ali Habib (age 18) UNR lost to (3) Shintaro Imai (JPN) WR 334 3-6 2-6
