Revenge duly taken.  s

Final:  Lloyd Glasspool & Harri Heliövaara (FIN) CR 229 (129+100) defeated Sander Arends & David Pel (NED/NED) CR 172 (89+83) by 7-5 7-6(4)   ban-woohoo.gif

The Dutch pair served a double fault on match point!  A maiden ATP main tour title for Lloyd &, as far as I can tell, for Harri, too.  biggrin

Lloyd is in a position now where he is very close to be at a ranking to be able to play French Open with Evo.

Yes, looking very good now for a Lloyd & Dan French Open pair. Almost certainly too much of an ask for Lloyd & Harri as a pair.

Harri emotional at the end, he was away from the tour for 5 years in his 20's before deciding to give it another shot.

Maybe he can have a similar story to Filip Polasek or he and Lloyd can have a similar story to Krawietz and Mies.

MTO for Lloyd at 6-5* in the second set...  hmm

All that was was Harri falling over and grazing his elbow.

Shame, Id like to see Lloyd and Helio do it together, much as I like Dan

Amazing that they have only just won their first Challenger title and then they make this step up to the Main Tour as if they've been playing here for ages. Huge congratulations to the both of them.

Really pleased for Llyod. I know singles will always be the main thing but, it wasn't working for him, he committed to doubles and now has a main tour title. I suspect that there is more to come but already something to tell the grandkids :)

Atleast he and Dan do have a history of playing doubles together and if they can't qualify as a pair Helio isn't missing out and could ultimatey benefit fi Lloyd and Dan go on a good run and Lloyd rises further up the rankings

Dan probably already committed to playing with someone else. The rankings leap must have been a bit unexpecte.

The French Open is still 10 weeks away, I really don't think Dan will be thinking that far ahead for doubles. I'm sure he'd love to play dubs with one of his best pals, and with the best will in the world, he isn't going to go too deep in the singles. Why not stay in Paris for a few extra days?  I can think of worse places to be!  Does anyone know what Dan's thoughts are re. doubles for this year?  I know that he has said he wants to focus on big tournaments, but does this mean he doesn't generally want to play doubles at grand slams and masters series events?
