Good. Prize for winner is Herbert in the next round. I think Herbert is talented but fragile and clearly has been largely doubles focused. But Cam should feel confident if he can get through this and get a win under his belt

L28:  Cameron Norrie WR 63 defeated (Q) Constant Lestienne (FRA) WR 219 by 6-4 6-7(4) 6-3 in two hours & 24 minutes (inc. an MTO for CL)

That was clearly no cakewalk.  Cam first served for it at 6-5 in the second, but was broken to 15, & then led in the tie-break by 4-1*.  hmm

*****

L16:  Pierre-Hugues Herbert (FRA) WR 93 (CH = 36 in February 2019) vs Cameron Norrie WR 63

PHH beat Nishikori, the sixth seed, by 1 & 4 in the first round...

I've always thought Constant Lestienne is one of those very aptly named tennis players - he is solid, makes few mistakes, difficult to get past, very constant in fact.

But well done, Cam

Good win for Cam. Next one will be difficult. I saw PHH play Marcus in Marseille a few years ago and if the courts are as fast now as they were then, Cam will have to return extremely well to get a foothold on the PHH service games.
