I'll wait to see if CD has any inside knowledge, but fingers crossed.

Looks like they were struggling to make up the numbers for qualifying, Lily looks to have a bye in Q1, and this Martial was originally so far down the alternative list.

I guess a combination of players not wanting to go France to Germany then back to France (especially with nothing for them to play next week), and those higher up not wanting to risk missing Lyon WTA or having to rush there given testing requirements etc...

The main draw should be intact, as only four players from the top of the Q list are missing. But Martial was right down at A50 with 30 French women above her.

Both rounds of qualies tomorrow. Emily starts at 10:30 local time, with Sofia on same court after.

Have they rounded up some of the local ballgirls to play here.

I've looked her up (the name meant nothing to me).

She's ranked 0 - which is very decent for someone born in 2004. But not outstanding. Top-ish end of British tour. Or ITF 15k QR2/FQR level. Something like that.

And she's lost quite a few of her matches to people the same rank or so (although, obviously, there's been a lot less play than normal)

But, yep, this is Emily W-S's chance for a singles win, that's for sure.

I've never seen her name before, nor the names of those who have beaten her, but she's had 2 matches in Tunisian W15 qualifying in 2021, and managed a total of 4 games combined.

Thanks CD, useful info. I did see those two results that Ace mentioned, against 1200 ish ranked players who both qualified and then lost in R1

Emily goes up 5-1*, loses 6 points in a row, but takes the next 4 to win the first set 6-2.

Only dropped 4 points on serve in the whole set, two of them in the last game.

She wins in 56 mins so should not be too tired for the next match
