Several other GB girls were on the Alts list but don't appear in the Q draw. Several players below Sarah Beth appear so she must have dropped out. Players just above Emily Appleton made it but she must have just missed out. Jodie should be in the Main draw.

Peter - see the discussion in the entries section - sounds like travel-related problems.

Makes sense! People from the UK are persona non grata in a lot of countries at present.

Emily lost 61 62.

Hopefully she can finally break her doubles streak here. Been a long one!

Yes, 12 first round losses now, last win in December 2019. But all of thse matches have been W60 or above, and include 6 WTA events and one slam.

Jodie gets an opportunity for revenge over Hesse.

Em is playing doubles with Perrin. They are unseeded.

Em and Connie unable to consolidate breaks, and then miss 3 break points to go *4-5 down. Promptly followed by a love break to lose the set.

Other pair look very up for this. Akita is a fun watch.

Work to do...

4-6 0-0*

On the positive side, she got a set this time. But I guess streaks get harder to break the longer they go on

Jodie up first tomorrow on a streamed court.
