As discussed elsewhere, it does of course assume that the WTA will resume taking off points from the start of 2021, unlike the ATP who have stated that they won't start taking off points until the March anniversaries.
I saw the title of the this thread and initially thought it was one of those spam ones. Like some sort of water advert. Remember the kitchen renovation ones ha.
Of course then I saw the reputable poster and realised not.
Points off figures include non-counters (not many of those). Points off in April icludes ITF points scored last week so some are negative (e.g. Jodie.).
Gabi and Victoria Allen left out as neither is playing.
Edited for my silly errors when showing points under new rules. Probably still wrong or the WTA will change their minds again.

Re these tables, with just 50% of 2019 ITF points dropping off for now ( as happened on 05/04 ), while all these points clearly have to come off eventually they will have much less short term impact ( and precisely when the WTA tour points come off will apparently be related to if/when these 2019 tournaments are played in 2021 ).
So in May Katy D say is just due to drop (1/2 x 80) + (1/2 x 1), each rounded down. So just 40 + 0 = 40 will come off then.
Also I am seeing other points due off, eg. points to come off in April for Katy D and Jodie. Jodie for instance has 1/2 x 31 points due off on 13/04 when her recent 50 (net 45) title points add. So overall will just be up 30 points in the 12/04 rankings.

Apologies for being dim but what exactly is a counter?
A WTA ranking is based on the best 16 points scores (counters) in the last 52 weeks (changed at present due to covid). If a player has more than 16 points scores the unused scores are non-counters (i.e. don't count towards their WTA ranking). A non-counter can become a counter if one of the better scores drops off (i.e. more than 52 weeks old).
I wouldn't worry about it at the moment as the rules are continually changing.

Thanks, I just assumed all points earned in a year automatically went on a player's score.

I think for most of the history of rankings they have had a process of divisors - it has changed as time has gone on and the number of events in the divisor has varied, but as a general rule, there has always been one - the "Race" at one time used to total up all points regardless but nowadays that is limited to top 19 counters for men, I think, in a given year, and presumably top 16 counters within the year for women

Particularly just now with covid leading to points being retained or 50% retained from the previous couple of years, many players have collected an unprecedented number of scores with, as mentioned elsewhere, some players now getting close to 50 scores. As said though they still only get to count the best ones for their ranking.
Practically all the leading GB women have a full set of 16 singles counters or 11 doubles counters. Many more of our top men than usual also have ( for them ) a full set of 19 counters ( Liam now has 31 singles scores ). So for them for any score to add in to be a 'counter' one of their existing counters has to drop out, so they don't get the full additional benefit of these points.
