Some good women's wins. But arguably more worthy of note what the youngsters have been achieving in the men's Q draw.

I don't see it as a men vs women issue.

Good, I just wanted to make sure and agree that the youngsters achieving it is key here.

As was - and some of them are building their case further today as well!!

I'm obviously delighted with all the wins we've had in qualifying and huge congratulations to all those involved, but I can't help feeling that winning one match isn't really enough to justify a nomination for POTM. That would seem to suggest that we have very low expectations.

And that is a separate but very good point! I guess a) the voting sorts it out and b) sometimes we just get carried away!!

At least the vote allows us to make a better judgement call at the end of each month!!

Yes, no reason to feel uncomfortable.

I'm not nominating Naiktha for beating someone who's never in her life won a grass court match. Of course, if she wins the next one, then that might be different

Katie is borderline but our expectations of her are so much more.

And that too is a very good point.  It's probably good to get carried away once in a while!

To be fair, we actually did have low expectations yesterday, the ones that got a POM NOM were the ones that vastly exceeded our expectations, lets be honest, most of us would've taken a few 6-4, 6-4 loss as a sign of progress.

Just looking at where we are in the week:

Wimbledon qualies should finish tomorrow

Eastbourne mens doubles (all we have left of British interest) should finish Saturday?

ITF W25 DOubles featuring Alicia and Liv and Emily and Freya should finish Saturday also...

Do we have anyone left in events that will finish Sunday?

Assuming Saturday is the likely end, I will post the big poll up Saturday night and let the fun begin...of all months, I have no idea where this one will land!!

No other women left anywhere that I am aware of - and (weather permitting) the Porto W25 doubles final should be Saturday. QF's this afternoon.

Folks still in are Emilie Lindh in Tunisia just in doubles,  Julian and Mark doubles also in Tunisia,  and this will be later Saturday because it's in the US, Finn and Tom doubles.

I nominate Katie Swan, who has done exceptionally well to win through qualifying after struggling with injuries earlier in the year.

Genuine question - if Julian Cash and Mark Whitehouse or Finn Bass and Tom Hands win their titles, is anyone likely to nominate them? If yes, thats fine. Ill wait. If not, then I will do the poll tonight so we get
It done and dusted before Wimbledon starts in terms of the initial poll and the run off

Or anyone else like Matt Rankin or Freddie Ridout, I dont want to do them a disservice but at the same
Time dont want to wait if its not going to happen regardless.

Please comment here - if I see no please wait comments by 10pm tonight then Ill assume Im good and put up the poll.
