I see the fields have been allocated for the ATP 250 events in Melbourne before the Aussie Open

Melbourne 1 - Kyle is in this one (Kyle is 10th seed) www.dartsrankings.com/tennis/melbourne-1

Melbourne 2 - Dan and Cam are in this one, dan as 8th seed www.dartsrankings.com/tennis/melbourne-2

Andy is on the alts list for both, presumably they will just allocate from the same list as places come free...

Regarding the likely seeding of Jo ,I read on the tennis forum that Kiki Bertens has pulled out.

Yes. She hopes to come back in the spring from her injury and surgery.

Good to see that Bryans are giving support to both Jamie and Bruno as one of their top pairs but also Joe and Rajeev as a potential year end #1.

I wondered if anyone knows, how will the 5 ATP and WTA events operate in that week they are all being played at Melbourne.

We have :

12 nation ATP Cup - with 18 rubbers a day for 3 days and then semis / finals - this presumably needs maybe 4 courts to play on

ATP 250 x 2 = are these 32 draw? And doubles, or? but again, we presumably need 3 courts if singles only or 4 if doubles to play one event, so 6-8 courts across both?

WTA 500 x 2 = these are 64 draw singles, not sure if doubles also? And presumably these need more courts, 6 or so per event , maybe 12 in total, at least in the early days?

So we are looking at what 20-4 courts in total being played on, at least in the first few days?

How many courts does Melbourne Park have , presumably it has this many to allow this to take place? Presumably they will allocate specific courts to each of the 5 events, otherwise it becomes effectively a series of big melting pots and no real structure - you would hope each of the 5 events would have some sort of identity?

Presumably the ATP Cup events with so many of the top mens players will have the main courts, with the womens WTA events having 49 of the top 50 entered and thus a good entry, taking the next sets, and the mens ATP250 events out in the boon-docks?

Looking at the plan of the grounds, it looks like there are three show courts, 26 outdoor courts, plus some indoor and clay courts. The 26 courts are in three separate areas within the main complex.

Loads of room !

cool, maybe they will have the 3 areas set aside  one for each of the 64 draw WTA events, and put the two smaller mens event in area 3? And ATP Cup in the show courts...
