Ouch. 6-5 30-30* and Lisicki has just taken a fall and is crying in agony. Didn't really see what happened, but doesn't look great.

Very sad.

Are Amazon Prime not carrying Linz? All their WTA content seems to have disappeared or am I being stupid?

I don't think they are covering it. Tennis on Telly

says Eurosport 2 and Eurosport player from Wednesday. I'm watching Court 1 on Bet365

Jani's double faults....

Horrible one on deuce to go 2-5* down.

A bit of a struggle, one or two close games, but lots of break points. Only one hold of serve though. 2-6

According to the WTA, Jani is only 5'3", which is proving to be a bit of a disadvantage.

Broken to 40 four times, which you just can't get away with. Minnen easily the best player on court. VdH provides a lot of coverage with her height.

0-3*

Disappears 6-2 6-0. Lost the last 11 points. Can't say I'm surprised at the result (especially given how good Minnen was in singles yesterday) but thought it would be closer.

A difficult year on court for Emily, but I still think it's been worth taking the gamble and playing up into the WTA events where she could. At this stage of her career why not? Yes you could lose all the matches as she did, but a bit of luck (this field has seen two retirements and a withdrawal already for example) and the points haul for 1 or 2 wins would have made it a very different story. I do rather wish she could have somehow played all those clay events with Sofia though!

Eden next. Tough ask for her but again a good opportunity to compete at this level.

Does this guarantee Naomi that top doubles spot?

No, mathematically any one of Emily, Heather, Sam, or Eden could catch her with a win in Dubai w/c 7th December. We'll have to wait and see who plays.

With no WTA tournaments, and only a handful of W25's it'll need a good performance, so Naomi is 90% safe.

Even with an abbreviated year, poor that someone has barely played let alone won any matches(?) is the top doubles player.

Naomi - four losses, one win and one walkover - the win was worth 60 points (nett 42?). The other ten counters were from a decent year in 2019
Emily - eight losses ......
