Week 43 - ATP 500 - Erste Bank Open, Vienna, Austria (indoor hard)

QR1:  (q4) Kyle Edmund WR 47 (CH = 14 in October 2018) vs Jason Jung (TPE) WR 128 (CH = 114 in July 2018)

Local WC, Erler, or the q6, Vasek Pospisil, in the FQR if he comes through that one.

I see Rajeev Ram has signed in for his first singles outing since Feb 2018. A pity none of the Brit doubles guys signed in as there is a bye in the draw.

Stuff (who had the BYE) has now made the MD as well after Goffin pulls out.

L16:  Jürgen Melzer & Edouard Roger-Vasselin (AUT/FRA) CR 55 (35+20) vs (WC) Daniel Evans & Oliver Marach (AUT) CR 173 (146+27)

L16:  Jamie Murray & Neal Skupski CR 51 (25+26) vs (WC) Dennis Novak & Dominic Thiem (AUT/AUT) CR 538 (430+108)
L16:  Grigor Dimitrov & Stan Wawrinka (BUL/SUI) CR 1072 (803+269) vs (2) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 16 (9+7)

Interesting choice of partner for Dan.  Marach is now 40, but a vastly experienced doubles player.

Bruno Soares signing in as an alt. Also getting the bye to FQR. Assuming even as an alt you get the same prize money. Thats an easy 8245 for being in the FQR. Almost double what a doubles player would make in the first round.

Also Atillia Balazs must be very happy with his draw now!

Correct. And the way he is playing, that is far from a given.

This seems slightly bizzare as if players were able to sign in as an alternate this morning why was Struff given a bye last night?
