Foreign Tennis Federations

We are very analytical/critical of the LTA and often, in passing, compare it to other countries.

But it seemed to me it would be useful to have a separate thread for those foreign federations.

Italy, in particular, with their amazing cohort of new players, has received quite a lot of comment in other threads on this forum.

Including the LTA guy saying it was 'just coincidence'...... no

So, just to kickstart it, here was one tweet based (I think) on comments by Giannessi:

Having 20 or more Challengers in a year is very good, it allows us to compete in our country week after week and improve our level of play. And not only for the players but also for the coaches, we have very good coaches in Italy and it is important to continue this work

Whilst it would be nice to have 20 challegers m/f - not likely to happen soon.

Would be great to hear of other systems that don't have the "sink or swim" mentallity.

I've lost interest in discussing this any further tbh, the LTA won't change, the stubbornness of us Brits. Practically every other system does better than us, even the real laid back ones who's only real "job" of the federation is the organization of "lower level" tournaments etc. One day we hope the LTA will stop being so arrogant and meddlesome fools, this for the better of the players rather than their own personal positions. But it is not this day, this day we fight.

Thanks, flamingowings !

Hadn't seen that...... not surprised though, he had the hump with the FFT some while back, and hasn't really kicked on as he would have liked.

Indeed, he's the 'perfect' age for change (see Jan C, Naithka etc) - very common for those who were promising juniors, getting on well with their federations and then basically get dropped as they don't become the top-100 player that the federation were banking on.

(Of course, he's best known for the hoo-hah round asking the ballgirl to peel his banana no - he claims it was because he had cream on his hands but frankly......)

Question in title. I'm wondering because you can uncap all your skills up to 99 and with enough money you can have all of them at 99 which makes it a bit silly. Do attributes have a cap at least or what?

I liked having to focus on certain aspects of my character and having to sacrifice others in older games like Top Spin 2/3/4 and not being a tennis robot with maxed stats all across the board.Acrylic Dining Table Manufacturers
