Boris Becker - criminal charges

It seems Becker has now been prosecuted for a string of criminal charges relating to his bankruptcy, in essence hiding or not declaring a whole series of assets that should have been disclosed.

Case is going to Southwark Crown Court.

Boy, how the mighty are fallen. This was always such a bizarre case.

I do so hope that the BBC now drop him.

Without being all stiff British about it, I find it repulsive that the BBC employ the man, given his history.

His diplomatic immunity defence was just pathetic, and the stories about women quite horrible.

So, good, if this is the end of him as a commentator and in my face, then I'm happy.

I couldn't agree more CD. I find him utterly distasteful as a man and quite honestly he adds nothing of value in the commentary box - just states "the bleedin" obvious. I too would be delighted to see him dropped.

He was still writing a column for the Daily Mail when the US Open was on.(not every day) He's also on the tennis cameo and charges £166 if you want him to do a message for you.

Incidentally I notice the BBC are completely ignoring this story - presumably because he's "one of theirs"

I see  there is a picture of Boris Becker on the front of the Times today  and the  Telegraph on an inside page has a picture of  the  other Boris is sitting in a police car on his jaunt in Northampton yesterday.

Page 72 on today's Daily Mail is  completly devoted to Boris Becker's view of the French championships.

Considering the sort of people that the Mail likes he would fit right in

Well since the trial is only next September there will  still be time for the BBC and the Daily Mail to employ him for his tennis opinions,.

So, Becker's trial has started today. He could face a spell in prison for this, as per first post above

Big story, really

I wasnt aware BB already has a conviction for tax evasion in Germany. Hard to look well on the guy who I so much want to like as he was one of my favourites growing up- and won the only Wimbledon final I went to against Lendl.
