Jamie Murray appears here in qualifying as 8th seed. Very week qualifying draw with byes being last accepted entry.
In the first round Jamie plays WC Alejandro Pardo from Chile, and if he progresses he plays another WC in round 2. If rankings go to form Jamie will need to beat Bruno Soares of Brazil in round 3 (ranked 564) to progress to the main draw.
I thought Jamie had been heading home to give a talk with Judy at a Scottish training centre, on becoming a tennis professional
Anyway, this was an excellent choice of event, despite having so many points available in the main draw the qualifying is extremely weak. Jamie's 1st two opponents were unranked wildcards.
Sadly Jamie couldn't make it past the Brazilian Bruno Soares who's ranked about 300 places higher at 564.
Jamie's 3rd in line for a lucky loser spot so it's unlikely that he'll be playing any more singles in Bogota.
Jamie's participation in Bogota is not over yet, he's in the doubles with Aussie Alun Jones. Jones has a doubles ranking of 344 but he has been as high as 149. They are unseeded.
Rd1: J Murray/A Jones v R Delgado/A Sa
Sa and Delgado are both former top 100 players in singles, Sa reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2002.
