I was going to bump that entries thread before I saw this. Olivia will play Freya in the FQR if she get passed the Romanian in R1. I noticed no Haddad Maia in the Q draw despite still being on the acceptance list, so hopefully (from a British perspective with 2 of the top 3 seeds) she will have withdrawn, but I guess a MDWC could be feasible with her being a relatively familiar name, and sharing a common language (although that last point might be a stretch).
Was Haddad Maia on the acceptance list ? No sign of her anywhere now, not in the withdrawals. According to the ITF, she hasn't played since Wimbledon 2019.
Yeah, she's still 19th on the Q list. I was hoping Freya would avoid her in the Q draw, but that's not needed now. Had a quick check on Insta and she's currently in Portugal with a couple of her compatriot players, so she's clearly got a MDWC. Hopefully Jodie (and Maia) can avoid her early. It'll be her first match since playing Harriet in Wimbledon R2 following her suspension.
I was just saying on the entries thread earlier in the week that she's beaten the likes of Muguruza, Pera, Brady, Stephens (although pretty much everyone's beating her these days) in 2019 alone, and because her absence wasn't injury related, she'll probably be able to get back into her stride pretty quickly, and should be a clear level above the field.

Q1: NICHOLLS, Olivia (GBR) UNR/UNR (CH=943/1180 2017) v def MIHAIL, Diana Maria (ROU) 12 1291/996 (CH=1112/904 2017) 6-0 6-0 First tour singles match for over two years !
Draw is out. Jodie has a WC first. She's in the same half as Maia, so they could meet in the semi final (if it went with seeding). Olivia plays the 2nd seed first and is in the other half, along with Haddad Maia.
