Weeks 35/36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

Now the draw is out, time for a thread.

If anyone has the draw and can post it here, that would be great!

 Thanks FW

Whilst hard for Cam and Kyle,  I'd say Dan and Andy have relatively kind draws and a possible third round meeting.

To summarise:

L128:  Kyle Edmund WR 44 (CH = 14 in October 2018) vs Alexander Bublik (KAZ) WR 51 (CH = 45 in February)

No head-to-head.  Kyle will play NoDjo (1) in the last 64, if he wins.

L128:  (9) Diego Schwartzman (ARG) WR 13 (CH = 11 in June 2018) vs Cameron Norrie WR 77 (CH = 41 in May last year)

Head-to-head is 1-1 (Cam beat him in the last 16 in Acapulco last year [7-6(50 4-6 6-3], while Schwartman won their first encounter in the last 16 in Antwerp in 2018 [7-6(1) 6-7(3) 7-4]).  Jason Jung or Federico Coria lies in wait, should Cam dig himself our of that little hole!

L128:  Andy Murray WR 134 (CH = 1 in November 2016) vs Yoshihito Nishioka (JPN) WR 48 (= CH)

No head-to-head.  Andy will in all likelihood face FAA (15) in the last 64, if he wins.

L128:  Thiago Seyboth Wild (BRA) WR 113 (= CH) vs (23) Daniel Evans WR 28 (= CH)

Apparently no head-to-head.  Dan will face Corentin Moutet or Jiri Vesely in the last 64, if he wins.

Tennis abstract rates kyle to win 1 round, andy also to win 1, and Dan to exceed his seeding and reach last 16.

5 wins their predicted target then.

Weeks 35/36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

It seems things tend to happen in tennis politics around this time. The ATP Tour was formed at Flushing Meadow and it seems a breakaway is now being formed in terms of a new players "association" courtesy of Novak...lets see.

Presumably not a Tour so much as a Union, which is of course what the ATP started as

And all the organising bodies are joined up against it.

Like to here more from novak on this later. Raonic has also come out with the new players group.

Well said Rafa. Even if there is some case ( and I'd need to learn more ), now just seems so not the time !!

Plus I must admit to immediate negative thoughts regarding the trio mentioned being Djokovic, Isner and Pospisil.
