Yes, that;s right. Jay has several zero counters though, so he's got a few weeks where he can add points, and the better points don't come into the equation until 25th October.

Nagal looks like a very accomplished clay court player. He has certainly dominated most of the rallies since I have started watching. His forehand is the difference at the moment.

3-4*

Nagal wins 6 games in a row to take the set 6-3

Serve not so important on Clay but Jay only at 50% on 1st serve with Nagal at 90%.

terrific fight from Jay. He was 4-1* down in the 2nd but has loosened up a bit and now playing more aggressively. Its working too.

5-5*

Not been following as busy work day, but hope Jay can pull it off. Nagal is featured on ATP website today btw

Not looking good. Jay took an MTO early in the 3rd and since coming back, his body language looks defeatist. I fear the worst here and I'm not talking defeat. I'm talking injury.

Disappointing, but in the light of Bob's comments above, perhaps not entirely unexpected.  Good to see him come back from 2-4* in the second, but things clearly went downhill from the MTO at *1-2 in the decider.  Pity.  If he'd won, he'd have faced a local WC (WR 617) in the last 16.

It was difficult to see on the live stream but it looked at first to be upper arm or shoulder. By the end though, it may have been lower back. At 1-1* in the 3rd it was game on. He looked to struggle towards the end of the next game and then called the MTO. Once he came back on, it was obvious there was a problem. He rolled in a couple of first serves, thrashed a couple of forehands trying to finish the point early and then kept looking up at his team in despair.

Gutted for him as he has had so many injuries. I hope this is just soreness having played 5 hours in 2 days after a long lay off and that he can bounce back. But my mind says that if it was just soreness, he would have battled through to the end.

I hope for Jay's sake that I am wrong. Speedy recovery Jay.

Jay reporting that he slipped on the wet floor in the changing room after the second set, and started 'spasming' in his back.
