Weeks 27 onwards - UK Pro Series - St George's Hill, Weybridge - (Hard)

Interesting CD, what did you mean regarding the something funny? I see the scoreboard has frozen now as well.

Some of the women's matches on YT last week were above 100, for more of the prominent players, and some would likely have been watching via FB as well, but yes, others might have done an average of like 30 to bring that down.

Well, Beth was 3.0, for quite a while. Which - in itself - like you, I thought a tad generous, because Jodie might well be on a downer and a little tired after yesterday.

And then, about 10 mins (?) before the match started, it suddenly went to 3.9, then 4.5 .... which, I assume, means a lot of money going on Jodie... which (see above) I found slightly strange but hey....

But, from experience, the odds never widen so suddenly as all that. Never seen it. (Although, thinking about it, I might be wrong and I guess it might be because the odds only came up in the morning and so weren't 'real' as such yet .....)

Doesn't help that the scoreboard on Youtube has now frozen too....

Looks like it's Beth 5-4*, With a few breaks in a row.

Doesn't help that the sound from the adjacent court drowns out the umpire as well

THere's some strange delay between the two courts too - I get Canter-Gray's score twice and never the women's score...

I think it is 5-6* now. Pretty close match, but Beth making a few more errors.

Ah, I thought you meant something suspicious in the actual match, like a potentially purposely missed shot or something. When I checked around 10am it was 5/2 Beth, which is 3.5 in your odds, and 4.5 is 7/2, so a notable increase, but I mentioned the other day that Jodie - Lily oponened at 4/6 vs 11/10 Jodie, so not too far off 50/50, 1.66 vs 2.10 in decimals, but by the time the match started it was 3/10 vs 12/5 (1.3 vs 3.4), so that was an even more significant increase.

On a bettimg note, I did see a few on Twitter going on about suspicious results and betting patterns yesterday,  one involving G Olmos, and the other involving Karimov (who I think beat Cam in the DC). That TennisTalker bloke mentioned loads of money, like way more than you'd expect in that type of match, was being placed on the Betfair Exchange.

Edit - Paddy Paddy are currently offering in-play odds for Canter match.

7-5 *2-1 by my reckoning, with Beth just ending a 6 game streak from Jodie.

Chris Goldsmith the Tennis Talker does find a lot of these types of suspicious betting patterns. Here is one just now:

No interest in Omar Jasika match at a set and a break down. Only £3800 matched. When a set and double break down interest in the match picks up ...

Money matched at huge odds/lays and Jasika from nowhere.

Jasika wins. How tennis trading can make fortunes for some. £124k matched

Yeah, I don't follow Goldsmith, but he often pops up on my TL, so I do occasionally see his suspicious betting tweets, and someone I do follow was asking an agent if he still represented Karimov, so I typed his name in and saw a few related tweets.

71 watching the women now, and 78 the men.

The working scoreboard might help that. If I liked both equal, then I'd probably go for the men's because it's really annoying not seeing the score, and pretty much having to follow it ball by ball yo keep up. I can't pause and rewind either with it on the TV, so if you miss the umpires call, you're struggling. Plus the closer 2nd set obviously helps.

Jodie has won 7-5 6-2, but not sure if they plsy that MTB? Looks like Beth is going off court with her bag, so I guess not.

Strange, I was expecting to play the MTB as previously posted. At least the LTA have said they are trying to fix the scoreboard.
