IoS 13.5.1 - wifi issues

This may seem a strange question. My wife and daughter both have iphones and my wife has an iPad. They recently took the oos upgrade that was forced on them by Apple to 13.5.1

Since then , the past few days, none of these devices will work properly using wifi, specifically on the internet. Links wont click, pages wont open. 4G is fine. Our laptops are fine, which use Windows, and my phone uses Android and is fine.

Is anyone else aware of a general issue that is known, and have you had this problem and resolved it?

I tried resetting network settings and that hasnt worked, I'm not clever enough to uninstall the software, so will probably need to contact a local PC and phone specialist on monday...

Anyone able to help, in simple language, please advise !!!

Can't really help brt grateful for the 'heads up' and luckily refused  the upgrade just the other day.  It seems a very common problem, but the solution may vary according to your iPhone model. Apple community has this 'discussion'  going on and if you scroll through you might find a solution that can apply to you......https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251478099

There is a reply by someone called D4rk4ngelz  that might work.........  but the option he suggests (wi-fi assist) is not available  on my Iphone 8

I've just checked my iphone Jon and see this update is installed already and I don't have a problem... But I have had earlier, and I then used apples' online chat help... I used it on my laptop to get the iphone sorted out, which they did.. they showed me how to uninstall, save a back up if necessary and reinstall...

Please let us know when and how, you do get this sorted. (Selfishly, it will be very useful to me as I need to update my iPhone, but it is not automatic).

No hurry at all.  Safe journey -  I did Stafford to Kent last week, and back -  and motorways still  less busy than normal.  Lack of much activity at Heathrow really helps M25 I'm sure.

seems to have corrected itself, not sure why or how but all have been working fine this past few days so havent actually done anything. It was strange it was just apple devices , android worked fine, windows also.

The only thing we can connect it to (other than Apple sorting out there software?) is that our son went back to London on Sunday - it has been good since then. He seemed to have several devices connected at one time, with work and stuff, and it may be that was slowing it all down for the rest of us - but, again, not sure why Apple?

Will keep an eye on it!!!

Thank you JonH, my phone seems to have downloaded it anyway, but not  actually installed it, until I give it the 'go ahead'.  Perhaps I will now
