I voted for another battler against injury, and very good player, Tommy Haas. Finally retired in 2018 just short of his 40th birthday, 16 years after he was WR 2.
Out of interest, has anyone seen Mansour Bahrami play in the flesh?

Yes, several times. He often appears at Wimbledon late in the day on the show courts when the maches fininish early. Very entertaining, but each match follows a similar pattern !

I've also seen Bahrami quite a few times-mainly in the annual vets event at the Albert Hall. He has the most incredible skills all displayed with the deadpan air of a real comedian. He missed the prime years of his tennis career through being banned from leaving Iran. Without this, I suspect he could have won many titles. I wonder whether his natural successor could be Dustin Brown?
