Tough one here having voted for Oli in qualies. But went for Flembo.

Colin and Ross, prior to the DC quarter final in Naples and under Beechy's watchful gaze.

Amazed no one supporting Andrew Castle!! Remember his epic with Mats Wilander at Wimbledon, 5 sets on centre court when Wilander was one of the games stars. And he won Seoul ATP event as well, I'm going to guess it was 1989 but cant remember exactly. Mind you, I didn't vote for him either, hard to vote for someone from GMTV!

Might be something to do with the fact that he has had a few twitter run-ins with at least one prominent member of this board and not come out smelling of roses.

Who was that?! Not sure many of us newer board members would be aware of that?!

I seem to remember Steven getting blocked by "Bouncy" on Twitter after an exchange of views.  Don't remember the details too much but might be able to find the thread where it was discussed.  Give me 5 mins. I have a vague memory that it appeared on a thread started by that upstart known as Bob in Brazil.

Probably more likely though that folks just dont like Bouncy as a person, sadly.

I have the memory of an elephant.

My "long lost cousin" Bob in Brazil did indeed start the aforementioned thread.

Discussion of the run-in between Steven and Andrew Castle starts near the bottom of Page 2.

As for the rest of the thread, the least said the better LOL.

Impressed Bob, impressed. I read the thread with interest , particularly at how some wild swipes and snipes where made at other posters! Glad that appears to not be the case much these days!

Oh, the power of Twitter. I tweeted the above photo this morning and suddenly the ongoing conversation that was prompted is almost like a who's who of recent DC tennis after Flembo decided to RT it.

Maybe it's just because memories can be so powerful, or maybe everyone out there is just missing their tennis as much as me.

Memories.

My particular memory and thought was that Ross was brought back too soon to the Davis Cup fold after his Hodgkin's, Lymphoma or at least there should have been a further doubles player out there to be in the actual team rather than Ross at that time.

Result - a recently ill Andy still played doubles with Colin, rather than Colin and Ross playing. They won well but Andy had little left to play Fognini in singles and that QF tie was lost. Of course Fognini would have been tough on clay at the best of times.

One of the very few times that I have thought that Leon has got a selection wrong. Quite badly wrong.
