A reminder that 1st round groups consist of:-

- Members of Federation/Fed Cup Teams

- Additional players that were part of Wightman Cup Teams

- Players that won at least one singles match at Wimbledon

- Players from qualifying including one Lucky Loser

This is now knockout.

Top 4 from each group to qualify for 2nd Round

Nope! Laura does not have a world ranking and the points that she has accrued would have dropped off now if the rankings hadn't been frozen so she meets the criteria!!

Appeal rejected. Anyhow, I don't think she was in the current players recent poll so think she can qualify for this one!!!!!

I am a big fan of Laura but to guard against being accused of bias (!!!) am choosing Sam in this one. Remember her beating Conchita Martinez unexpectedly and I think she is one of the better current commentators.

Sam beat Conchita on the way to the last 16 of Wimbledon in 1998 and that is the last occasion that any woman born in Britain reached the last 16 of any Grand Slam singles.

I know it is probably pedantic, but as others have said, surely Laura can't be a former player. Loving seeing all the great names from the past though and it is a really good competition.

Laura could be a former player because in a recent interview she said  after her hip operation she stil  cannot run. Additionally she has not played for 11 months.

Ditto! Maybe we just need to vote against her Andy and create a groundswell until the officials around here take us seriously !

And Neil Pauffley in the mens!

Skulduggery! smile
