Stories going around that Tenys Sandgren was allowed to board the charter flight for the AO despite having tested positive for Covid. What is going on ?
Also, bad news as I've put in Andy's own thread. He has tested positive for Covid but is still apparently hoping to compete at the AO.
Sandgren had covid in November and tested positive just now as a lingering virus was in his body, but he doesnt have it as such. The AO medical authorities gave approval. I dont think there is really any story as such here
Looking at a WTA entry list for the AO which is maintained by an Italian he has the 4 following ladies withdrawn from the original entry list i.e Bertens, Keys, Anisimova, and Linette. I think the Americans are Covid related whilst the Europeans are injuries.
Don't know how players would cope with 14 days in a hotel room. I was once quarantined in a hotel room in Eastbourne because I caught a bug there. 48 hours was more than enough.

Now if only some of them were into social media !
Certainly can help pass the down time during the regular tour in regular times, and whether some overuse it is very much in the eye of the beholder. But on this occasion could be most useful.

Yeah well normal people have to do so, I'm of the opinion of too blinking bad.
Yes, they are getting all kinds of privileges not afforded to ordinary Australians. Noone made them travel (which they are doing basically for free). Get on with it, and any rule infractions, no matter how small should be punished with exclusion from the event.
Plenty of others who would have given anything for the opportunity.

Agreed. Privileged position and should suck it up.
