week 7 - ITF (W60) Cairo, Egypt Hard

Q1: CARRERAS, Amanda (GBR) 6 331 v BIZHUKOVA, Tamara (RUS) 1220 CH=612 2013

It's a strange decision by Amanda to play these high level ITF events on Hard courts in Egypt. She usually plays Clay court events, so you would think she would either go for high level ITF clay events or, if she was after experience on hard courts, then lower level hard courts. Maybe she has opted for a playing holiday in Egypt.

She was there last week for the 100K. So I'm guessing she decided to stay over. 3 points for a QR1 win would be a useful non-counter - 5 points for QR2 would be better. Can't see the Q draw because the the ITF have "enhanced" their web-site to the point where it no longer works.

Yes I currently can't access the women's calendar and draws either on the ITF site... I just get a message saying '1 Feb 2020 - 29 Feb 2020' There are no women's tournaments this week. Please search another date range.

Does this work?

www.itftennis.com/en/tournament/w60-cairo/egy/2020/w-itf-egy-07a-2020/

Amanda plays bizhukova in opener of qualies.

Website works fine for me...

It's wonderful what you can do if throw a pile of money at it. Womens calender is still "de trop".

I can access this page Jon from your link - it goes to the tournament website, but when I try to go back to the main calendar page from the tournament site... I'm still getting the same no tournaments message.

Results for: "1 Feb, 2020 - 29 Feb, 2020"

There are no tournaments on this week. Please select another date range.

Yes, same for me. We have a problem, hopefully very temporary.

The ITF site sometimes allows you to open the live scores page with a list of upcoming matches. If you try hitting the red "live Scores" button you might get the page to open once for every twenty attempts. Amanda's match is 4th on court not before 13.30.

As Strongbow refers to, Mandy's lowest counter is 4 points. Indeed after last week she now has a '4' in reserve as her highest non counter

So 3 points for reaching the FQR would be net zero. And 5 points for qualifying would be net '1'.

I'd say that it is thus pretty debatable how useful these points would be to her.

And it's likely to get rather tougher for her in the MD if she gets there, particularly on hard courts.

Safely over the first hurdle then. 6/13 on BP will need tightening up.
