Q1: MPUKUSA, Kimberly Alinafe (GBR) UNR v GARLAND, Joanna (TPE) 14 602 CH=580 16/12/19 [18yo JCH=14]

Q1: CHRISTIE, Freya (GBR) 15 609 v AZCOITIA, Olga Parres (ESP) 806 CH=682 2014

Q1: DUNNE, Katy (GBR) 4 343 v PITAK, Aleksandra (GBR) 838

Q1: DALEY, Danielle (GBR) UNR v CARRASCO, Maria Gutierrez (ESP) 13 564 CH=439 6/5/19

Q1: BANKS, Amarni (GBR) UNR v BROULEAU, Lou (FRA) 5 378 CH=329  2016

Q1: COMPSON, Chloe (GBR) 847 v MUNTEAN, Victoria (FRA) 11 488 CH=435 2016

Q1: CONWAY, Jasmine (GBR) UNR v ZIMMERMANN, Kimberley (BEL) 6 390 CH=215 13/5/19

Q1: PITAK, Katarzyna (GBR) UNR v LABOUTKOVA, Aneta (CZE) 16 768 CH=698 5/8/19

Q1: MORTON, Emily (GBR) UNR v HARTONO, Arianne (NED) 8 406 CH=405 3/2/20

 Q1: STAFF, Holly (GBR) UNR v MORATELLI, Angelica (ITA) 10 481 CH=318 2013

The top three seeds have Byes, there are no qualifying wild cards, though there were about a dozen GBR girls left on the Alts list.

It is likely that Emma Raducanu and Alicia Barnett got wild cards to join Samantha Murray Sharan in the main draw.

Nice one Peter. I wasn't expecting this out so soon.

So Emma, Lissey, Freya and Ali all missing from qualifying, and presumably get the MDWC's

Freya's in there TA. Think someone mentioned that one of them would be allocated performance based, so probably Emma, Ali, Lissey, and that one other.

Edit - I think Esther A was mentioned on here the other day (as winning one), and she's still on the alt list, but not in quals, so it's probably her.

Looking more generally, Galfi, Tauson and Georges should have replaced the 3 that withdrew the other day, Burel should have an SE, so that means there will likely have been one withdrawal from Benoit up in the top 20 of the list. Harmony Tan reitred in the other Grenoble semi final so may well be her.

Seems to be 2 byes in the quals which is a shame.

Yes, right down to 47 on the alt list, including Miss Compson.

3 byes in qualifying so only 29 signed in. At a time when there are justifiable complaints about the lack of British opportunities for unranked players, it seems extraordinary that there were no less than 10 British alternate players (9 if Adeshina gets a MDWC) who bothered enough to enter but who did not bother enough to attend!

To be fair, the highest alts on the list that hasn't signed in are at A21, A28 and A31 so probably wouldn't have expected to get in. Although Grace, Chloe and Jasmine from the bottom of the list have taken their chance.

It's good how quals are on Sunday now:

www.itftennis.com/en/tournament/w25-glasgow/gbr/2020/w-itf-gbr-01a-2020/order-of-play/

9.30am starts.

I'm not sure how it works: if players would have had qual WC but there were spaces anyway is the wc designation taken away as no need for one? For example grace and jasmine, who could both have a case for wc, may have gone knowing they were in. Chloe may be from Scotland and other alts probably wouldn't travel with no certainty of getting in.

Yes, surely a factor.

The entry position of course looks bad but it does seem understandable that the weather would have an effect.  And enough to have caused these byes.

It's one thing to travel with uncertainty of getting in, it's another to do so this particular weekend.
