Some 15 year old. I saw her name mentioned on the entries thread and tjought she must be some overseas plsyer who msybe occasionally plays doubles with one of our girls or something, I've never heard of her either.
Not often Dabrowski will be 1/250 to win a WTA singles match, but good luck to all Brits involved.
Hopefully Eden has a MDWC as speculated, and draws that Oman player who also often gets WCs for these gulf events.
I looked up Vera on the ITF, and did manage to find her in the Juniors. Mind you there was little information - just 4 grade 4/5 tournaments and a W/L record of 1/4
The last DA for qualifying was WR465, so Eden would have just got in. A MDWC is possible, but with the Goerges the top Q seed at WR31, it's probably take the money and run !
Yes, Kudermetova is the q5 seed. Beth could have drawn a non seed ( there are 3 qualifying rounds ) but would still have very likely been a real toughie.
Vera is a qwc.

Yeah, it's crazy seeing Goerges in qualifying. Such a strong list for a premier 500 equivalent event, but then Dubai does seem to be very popular with the players in general, and there is the P5 the week after.
Yes, I was thinking - gee, it's 'just' a Premier this year. But yes most will pair with the Doha Premier 5. And while the ranking points are about half of a Premier 5 it looks as if the prize money is similar for these two events.
The official draw on the WTA website isn't showing points or prize money for qualifying at the moment. But going through the tournament website, I see that the prize money is $2,280 for a QR1 loss, and $4,070 + 13 points for a QR1 win.
Vera is third on court 7 tomorrow, with Beth following.
Edit for typos

Main draw is out, I can't see Eden, but man, there's some really good looking first round draws.
Svitolina vs Muguruza
Kenin vs Rybakina
Sabalenka vs Sakkari
I know Qiang has slipped down a bit recently, but even her vs Mertens could be good as they had some really good 3 set battles at Indian Wells and Wimbledon last year.
There's obviously some higher ranked plsyers like Halep and Pliskova there, but if the above four matches were your QFs, then I don't think it would look too out of place.
I see Rybakina is an SE for her run in St Petersburg. She was meant to be top seed in that mess WTA Debrecen/Budapest event that got cancelled, so a lot of those players ended up in the Dubai qual lost, so I wonder if that might have ended up costing Eden a MDWC, or if she just didnt want to play singles anyway?
