Hopefully one of the two can get a result please.gif. I know they're both doubles players but it would really help.

They are both clearly much better ranked as doubles players and probably expected to only play doubles here but not sure either would yet concede to being 'just' doubles players in the way some of our guys are. Eden is still just 23 and singles WR 455 with a full set of singles counters.

In singles Eden has to cover only 13 this quarter and Sarah Beth has a "free hit".

In doubles it's a diferent matter with both losing 105 points soon.

My opinion is that Sarah Beth will never get under 300. Eden could just make it. Hopefully they will both prove me wrong.

Odds are just a number, but Eden is the 8/11 favourite (and she opened even shorter), so she clearly has a good chance, despite being lower ranked, but it's a great opportunity (for both) to win one match against circa 350 players for 12 points, whereas both could end up in the Glasgow W25 main draw in a couple of weeks and play top 100 Kristie Ahn in R1 for a measly 5 points, so it would be great if at least one of them could take advantage. Fingers crossed.

I'd agree with that, so personally, if someone said to me 'one has to win tomorrow, one has to lose, you decide', I'd hope Eden would get the W, as I think she could eventually do more with it.

If Eden earns the 12 points for reaching the FQR, allowing for points due off, she will add a net 4 to take her to 92 points and so join a diverse group who have found different ways to somehow be ranked down in the 440s as GB #s 13, 14 & 15.

Namely Katie B 92 points, Gabi 92, Tara 91.

A pity Jodie had to scratch from this, especially as she got wiped out in the W25 SF today against a player ranked 100+ places higher than anyone in the Q draw here.

And so far it is Beth who is doing the best. She won the first set on a TB and is an early break up in the 2nd 7-6(5) *2-1

And Eden after a poor first set has now evened up her match too 1-6 6-4

All to play for...

And really fantastic from Beth, holds her last few service games confidently to win 7-6(5) 6-4.

A very healthy 12 pt haul for her should take her inside the top 600. Could face Eikeri next WR 243

A brilliant win for Beth, but Eden faded in her 3rd set and could not complete her comeback.

That's a great win for Sarah. Shame Eden couldn't join her in the next round.
