Jodie recovers an early break, and then takes four games in a row to take the first set 6-4
Early break down in the second as well, *0-2

Recovered the break to 2-2, only to fall behind 2-5*. Couldn't quite get that one back, so it's 6-4 4-6 *0-0

Well done to both for the win and the second "counter" biggrin They are currently Alts for next week at Monastir but should squeeze in to Qualies.

Tough match up for Jodie - for those not aware Miriam won two junior grand slam doubles titles, but hasn't really pushed on as expected in seniors.

There was still also a warning in that CH 256 from July 2018 (age 21). I've now just looked at her activity and having still been top 300 in early 2019 she then didn't play from February until late November, hence her current ranking.

An essentially top 300 player is going to be problematic for Jodie if she is back much closer to her best than Jodie has been.

Thought I recognised the name, although not from the doubles. She did play both Katie's in Obidos in 2018 and was ranked in the late 200s as little as 11 months ago, but has pretty much just come back after being inactive since last February. She's probably hit the ground running quicker than Jodie in their respective comebacks.

Edit - fairly similar posts there smile

Yes, but a good explanation between you of why Jodie lost and why it might not be considered too disastrous, so thanks both!!
