Yes, after all that proceeded it, and sympathies to the many hugely effected by the typhoon, a super match and well done Japan, deserved winners. Go beat South Africa.

But when we scored two tries to get back to 28-21 with more than 20 minutes still to go, game on. But then some lack of execution when we could have really put the collywobbles up them ...

Yes.

And - prepare to be shot down in flames but - I believe in the United Kingdom. 

So, although I know each team is there on its own merits, it still seems a bit greedy to have England AND Wales AND Scotland.

Great to see the home nation, a little nation, come through - especially when they play as well as they did. 

And it makes the supporter's life easier:

England to win against Australia (obviously !!!!)

Japan to win against South Africa (follow the heart)

Wales v France -  got a soft spot for France but they've been arguing SO much, and playing SO poorly, and Wales sing well. So whoever plays better.

NZ to win against Ireland - got a soft spot for Ireland too. But you've got to have the All Blacks in the final phase or else it's not a real Rugby World Cup.

There's only one point in it. 

But Japan has never made the QFs before and Scotland has made the QFs five times, from what I see.

So that's why Japan is a 'little nation' in Rugby World Cup terms.

Owen Farrell rediscovers his kicking mojo as England stuff the Wallabies.    The match agin the ABs is a mouth-watering semi-final.  Eddie Jones was in charge of the Wallabies when they beat the ABs to reach the final in 2003 - which England, of course, won in extra time (remember that Wilko drop goal that clinched it?).  I was on a canoeing trip on the Whanganui River (west coast of North Island) the day it was played & didn't know the result till the following day (no mobile signal)!

 England tactics spot on and selection choice in the backs was excellent. All Blacks will be tough.

Expecting wales and south Africa to join them.
