I know, I know, but he's taken such a battering in the first round of Challengers recently that he may have decided to drop down to this level in the hope of getting a few wins to boost his confidence.

 I assumed it was just because he's effectively German/ex-German and may well be from that area, have ties to that club, friends in that area or whatever.

I also thought Jon was saying 'in an 15k'???? because he's still only second seed. i.e. what, playing a 15k, and ONLY second seed? 

Maybe the club gives nice extra freebies, hence the even better ranked Swiss guy is playing too, and lots of others - it's a far stronger field that the other 15ks.
