Harriet having a second successive shot at Tashkent qualies. Savinykh is often in the UK events where she tends to partner Freya in doubles. She's actually a lot higher ranked than I thought, so she must have had a reasonable few months. There was a picture of Harriet and Valeria together on the courts yesterday, so they may well be playing doubles together here.
If Harriet wins, she's very likely to have a US Open rematch in the FQR against Ana Bogdan, as the Romanian has drawn an Uzbek QWC, so it will be pretty tough for her to make the main draw, but here's hoping.
Edit - managed to miss Naomi in a small 16 person Q draw, so it's 2 GB vs Russia matches.

Yeah, Savinykh was ranked 271 at the Glasgow W25 in February, and 257 at the W25 in Sunderland in April, but since then she was won 2 Asian W25s, and reached a final in a third, so has gained 130 of her 370 points from that.
Great result for Harriet. The next match will be tough but frankly these are the sort of matches she needs to start winning on a regular basis if she is to become a top 100 player. Bogdan is decent but not great and is beatable.

I was in that midset 4 weeks ago when they were placed together at the US Open, but it wasn't particularly close, she was hanging on to her serve until 3-3 and then pretty much one way traffic thereafter, so less than 4 weeks later, same surface, plus Ana got some decent wins in Korea last week, I can't see there being much difference, so I'm in the 12 points in the bag, anything else would be a bonus camp here.
