technically decades end in years ending in zero as there was no year 0 so it went AD 1-10 etc

A decade is any period of 10 years.

And in practice people think of particular decades as say the 80s from 1980 to 1989 or the 2010s from 2010 to 2019.

Edit for date silliness.

Actually Indi, I think of the '80's as being 1980 to 1989 wink

OK, have it your way. I've changed 1889 to 1989

Not to me, and many others so to me and them it's the last slam of the decade.

This all sounds like one of those discussions where you desperately want the tennis to start so you can change the subject LOL.

Thanks to those who corrected Kyle's seeding. His route to the title is:

R1: Andujar
R2: Sonego/Granollers
R3: Thiem
R4: Monfils/FAA
QF: Tsitsipas/RBA
SF: Nadal/Zverev
F: Djokovic/Federer/Medvedev

I don't see Kyle getting that far but nor do I see Monfils/Tsitsipas/Zverev/Federer/Medvedev either. Even an undercooked Thiem is likely to have too much for Kyle should Kyle manage to not go out earlier.

Good 1st round draws all round there. Fancy an Evo - Federer 3rd round :)
