Again, lots of CHs this week, with a cohort closing in on the top-200 - and special mention to Joel and Matt, right close to the top-1000, after only two or so events
Evo seems to have been doing very nicely in the rankings recently, despite not winning a single match, it seems - which I can only take to mean that everybody else around him has been doing even worse....

Although to be fair to Evo , he did get to the semis in Morocco event a couple of weeks back, a decent week in a generally baron spell !

Looking at Cam and Dan's ranking points splits on the ATP site, this year's Indian Wells and Miami Masters are apparently not mandatory counters. Their 10 points from R1 ( for them ) exits ( Miami for Cam, both for Dan ) are currently non-countables and they are able to count higher scores from other tournaments.
Have I missed something re what tournaments count as mandatory counters this year?

Non-commitment players are able to replace 3 mandatory 1000 counters with a better score from a 500 or 250 that has taken place after the 1000 counter being replaced.
So, the LTA have on their website something called the LTA Combined Rankings. It appears to be some sort of ranking system which gives players full singles and 1/4 doubles points like the juniors and rates the singles and doubles players on the same table.
All very interesting but here is the top 25 and it raises some questions - firstly, what on earth is the point of it - a ranking table with Neal and Joe alongside singles players like Liam and Andy makes no sense in terms of how it can be used?
But - who on earth are Nicolas Moreno de Alboran, Abedellah Shalbayh, and what are John Patrick Smith, Oliver Crawford (American?) and Vijay Prasanth doing on the list and in the top 25??
Does it have any use , any credibility and any sense to it??!
