Nice work Peter, don't envy you smile. I was just saying on the other thread that I thought the 4 MDWCs would be Angelica, Sasha, Holly H and Emily Arb, but there's no Ali Collins in Qs either, so probably 4 from those 5 and at least 1 of them sitting it out.

Guaranteed one qualifier from those 17, and that's all it'll probably be, unless there's a hidden gem amongst some of the lesser known.

Assuming all 4 MDWCs are used, there'll be at least 13 Brits in the main draw (12 + 1 qualifier)

I would suggest the nearest possibility to a 'hidden gem' is Grace Piper. I see the Mordergers are in line for a qualifying round match-always seems a great shame to me when that happens.

Surely some of these girls would have been better off playing Dublin....

One guaranteed qualifier in Freya's quarter and given Freya's form, it could be any of them.

Yes, that's what I'd said before too - in many places, it's pretty much just as cheap to get to Dublin and the entry list there goes very low.

And half the girls on the list didn't even turn up so they've got tons of BYEs - anyone could have got in.

Strange....

If Freya loses to Scarlet, then she's got serious problems.......

However, be curious to see how Iman is playing - she did well in her first year in French league tennis (although she wasn't playing the top players, of course)

If Freya concedes more than four games to Scarlett she's got serious problems.

Yeah, just seen the odds and while she's still an underdog, according to those, she's the only Brit with half a chance to beat an overseas player in Q1. I remember her playing one of the April W25 events and there was a bit discussion about her there. I've not even heard of a couple of the GB players, but seeing some of the odds, I'm expecting a few of those usual wide defeats.

Shame for the twins, I suppose it's very likely one will go through, but given the field, they'd probably both have come here with expectations of qualifying, which obviously can't happen now unless there's a LL spot opening up.

Grace takes the first set in the tie break, last time I checked she was down a mini break. Freya on MP after 54 mins - 6-1 5-0 A-40* (now deuce). Garshong and K Pitak also in a TB.

Good call Telstar, Grace takes the tie-break.

And Freya wins 1 & 0

K Pitak halfway to securing the FQR with Freya as she takes the TB against Garshong. Iman served for the set at 6-5.

Well, you were even more right than me on this one, the addict smile

There's a big disparity in levels but, all the same, to concede only one game must feel good for Freya.
