Katie SWAN (GBR) 256 vs Magdalena FRECH (POL) 236 CH = 115 02/07/2018

Katie back in US hard court action and not a seed this week after her ranking drop. She does face an unseeded player, but one of the highest ranked outside of the seeds, so could have been easier, and another player around 100 places off their career high.

This is part of the USTA pro circuit and there will be streams available for most of the matches last like week. She's not playing an American this week, but it is a 20 vs 21 year old, both reasonably highly ranked, so hopefully it's on the main court with the commentary and production, although I'd be pretty happy with any sort of stream.

Looks like Katie's singles match will be Wednesday but she is playing doubles with Maria Sanchez tomorrow, against a wildcarded pair.

Katie follows Manasse's match who is currently 6-3 *3-1, so may not be too much longer.

It looks like only Courts 1 and 3 are being streamed on the usual ITF site (not Katie), and none via this fine service - www.usta.com/en/home/pro/pro-tennis-events/women-s-pro-circuit-live-streaming.html, despite Ashland being on the list.

The US Open hopes are still alive!

The seeded player in this section, Liang lost the other day, so it's Ukrainian born American Gail Bordsky in the 2nd round. Mind, Katie would have probably preferred Liang who is drifting back down the rankings and has already lost to Katy and Gabi this year, and Katie herself at the back end of last year.

Hopefully be one of the streamed matches.
