Anna Popescue was 2nd alt on the entry list and is playing with Miranda Poile (AUS) in the doubles, against the 3rd seeds first up, so assume she will appear in the singles MD too when it appears.
Anna is another who will regain her ranking in two weeks time when the transition points are merged.
Congrats to Anna who has made it to the QF now in a very close match, although she was 4-1 and 5-3 up in the final set before some of those breakbacks mentioned. She had two BPs for MPs which she did not win, but once back to deuce her opponent helpfully served two DFs to hand Anna the match. Imagine she will need a little time to recover..

As CD says, Anna's next opponent is another junior, a year younger, and not as highly ranked as her Georgian opponent today. Bougrat beat a qualifier today relatively easily.

Maelys's junior ranking is nothing to write home about but she stopped playing iTF juniors about 12 months ago, at the age of 15 or so, so it's not really a fair indicator.
In adults, she beat a top-300 player a couple of weeks ago, as well as the French junior (WTA 500) who has just beaten the top seed in the European championship in Switzerland this week.
She's pretty well thought of, although she messed up rather at the nationals last year.
