Week 27 - ITF (W25) - Corroios-Seixal, Portugal - Hard

Emilie Lindh is back in qualifying in Portugal this week - glad to see her back as she withdrew in the middle of her last tournament in Cancun. This is a W25 so an increase in level for her. A q seed should help her qualifying efforts though with the q5 seed also in her bracket. Maia and Emily App should be in the MD.

Meanwhile in the wider world, Emily App + Berfu Cengiz (TUR) [3] have won their first round doubles 6-2 6-4

Emilie Lindh + Marianna Zakarlyuk (UKR) unfortunately despite a promising start lost 6-1 3-6 3-10

Emily and Maia play their first round singles tomorrow.

Here, despite some promising performances on grass, Emily still fails to turn a good draw into a W25 MD win.

Maia wins 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, got to admire the economy of effort, winning fewer points 80 versus 83

also 5/12 BP, versus 5/7 for her opponent

Second day in a row an indifferent performance from Maia, but this time she doesn't recover. i'm surprised she's lost to Lily but a good result for her. Very disappointing for Maia.
