Week 25 - Wimbledon Mens Wild Card Playoffs

I know that Jack Pinnington Jones is very highly touted by the LTA (not completely convinced myself but only seen him play live once last year).
And, in general, pleased to see a youngster or two get a go.
But I wonder where Arthur Fery came in this discussion?
He's a year older but still only 2002 (unlike all the other 2001-ers).
And top 100 (unlike Jack - 2003 - who is not even top 200).
I don't think he's really been part of the LTA's favoured few (which presumably is no great loss to him, considering the sporting connections he has).
But I would have given him the nod over Jack

Four courts in play today (Courts 17-20), with four matches on each. Play starts at 11:00 for two morning matches, with the afternoon pair of matches court showing as not before 1:30
Alternate mens and women's matches on each court.

My confusion was CD talking about JPJ when he's not in the draw unless there has been a change.

You give me too much credit, the addict no

I'm afraid Indy's got my number - no glasses - misread the two Jacks..... cry

Truly feeble......

OK, start again, now what I meant to say was: why wasn't Arthur Fery given a spot????

Full first round draw

Brydan Klein [1/355] v Luke Johnson
Billy Harris v Jonathan Binding [WC]
Neil Pauffley v Alexis Canter
Michael Shaw [WC] v Ryan Peniston [3/514]

Lloyd Glasspool [2/472] v Andrew Watson
Alastair Gray [WC] v Sean Hodkin [WC]
Jonathan Gray v Mark Whitehouse
George Houghton [WC] v Jack Findel-Hawkins [4/670]

My feeling on grass season to date is that Klein and Peniston will play it out for one QWC place, hard to call that match as their records seem v close so far. I would like Peniston to win it as I think he deserves it more. In the lower half, going to go with Watson to cause an upset versus Lloyd and see it through to qualify for the qualies

 First matches finished.

Glasspool beat Watson 7-6 6-4

A. Gray beat Hodkin.  ( not sure of the score)

Brilliant info, tramlines.
Still going for Ali G to get the bottom half....
A tragedy for gb tennis if what you say is true about George Loff giving up .... Well, not a tragedy exactly but sad days....

Well done to Glasspool, I thought Watson might be able to take him.
