On grass, I think Tara has a chance of an upset...I'd be very surprised if any of the others made it through.
I agree re Tara.
And having seen McNally at Surbiton, it's true she did well, and is probably getting better on grass with each match, but she looked pretty shaky in the first match I saw (against Eden - Eden could have won, in my view, if she'd played a bit smarter), so I'm going to be hopeful.
And if I'm not missing something, Pera hasn't played since RG, on clay. So I think Eden has a good outside chance of causing an upset - now's the time to catch Pera cold, that's for sure.
I wouldn't rate Aiava's chances too high either - again, only one grass court match since RG, which was a loss.
I saw her thrash Freya at Wimbly qualis two years back - Freya lost 3 & 0 - but I think it's going to be a lot closer this time.
From the eternal optimist
(however, I was really unimpressed when I saw Bains play a couple of years back at Surbiton and, despite the hype, I remain the same after seeing her this year. So she'll probably be the one to get the win and the others will fall on their nose ).
I find both the LTA and WTA websites impenetrable ( nowhere near as good as ITF). Can someone please tell me how to find the Birmingham qualis draw and order of play. Thanks.

Hi Telstar!
If you open the atp live scores app through website, it opens up an app with all the atp, wta and challenger draws, schedules and live scores etc. Good tool and the birmingham draw and schedule, due to start at 11 are both on there

There's just far too much grass court tennis to follow at the moment. Diyas-Brengle in Manchester on the LTA's Facebook stream, with Sam to follow, Vekic on Eurosport, Dan in Nottingham on the ATP live streams, Jack in Queens, these qualifiers in Birmingham, and even the semi finals of WTA Rosmalen on BT Sport.
