SC - can I ask why you have the accent on Paire's name but not on Dzumhur or Krajinovic?

Sonego & Berrettini have had very good (singles) clay seasons so could be tricky. Not a terrible draw for Cam & Dan. Shame about the all GB tie there but hey, guaranteed GB winner. Overall, could be worse.

The answer's very simple:  I've tried in the past, but gave up, as Activeboard doesn't support them or any other eastern European accents, whereas French, German, Spanish, Portuguese &, to a lesser extent, because they have some in common with French and/or German, Turkish & Finnish (cf., for example, Çagla Büyükakçay - there should be a diacritic [a little hook] over the "g", which means it's not pronounced, but it lengthens the sound of the preceding "a", & Harri Heliövaara) are accepted.  It will also accept "ċ" in Swedish place names.

Thanks very much for the answer. Activeboard is quite odd!

So the Daily Mail (urgh!) have it that Jamie & Bruno are "on the cusp" of breaking up and Jamie is looking to partner Neal. There is also a para on Paul Jubb as well as a sort of round up on yesterday's play at RG.

Jamie and bruno isnt a surprise, the pairing hasn't fired for a while and bruno has a young family now meaning down time is wanted at home, making training tougher. Many on this board have questioned if the pairing is delivering all it should.

Jamie and neal is exciting, neal has fired and outgrown Ken I feel who in turn has personal priorities now. It makes sense all round if its correct. And using the grass season to kick start it, not too late if they make it work to qualify as a pair for London.

Perhaps worth an individual thread, perhaps not. Three mixed doubles pairings.

L32: Eri Hozumi & Ben Mclachlan (JPN/JPN) vs
Marìa Josè Martínez Sánchez & Neal Skupski (ESP/GBR)

L32: Dominic Inglot & Mihaela Buzarnescu (GBR/ROM) vs Darija Jirak & Austin Krajicek (CRO/USA)

L32: Asia Muhammad & Luke Bambridge (USA/GBR) vs Pauline Parmentier & Fabrice Martin (FRA/FRA)

Interesting re bruno pairing with pavic, who with marach seemed to be doing v well. Clearly rates soares. Glad Jamie and bruno remain friends, Jamie clearly has a ruthless edge though!

Jamie is feeling the chill winds signalling the end of his career is drawing nigh. Yes, doubles players can carry on for years, but few remain as competitive as the Bryan brothers, and without a change jamie is likely to cease being the Brit #1 very soon.

In truth Jamie and Bruno have been a great partnership and Jamie has certainly had by far the best years of his career with Bruno.

For much of his career Jamie was good, especially when in a settled partnership but it was not until his 3rd and final year with John Peers at age 29 that he first became a top 20 ranked doubles player.

Up until Febuary 2013:
Highest ranking WR 23 in 2012.
Slam best: twice in L16, in 2007 and 2008.

Partnering John Peers February 2013 to end of 2015:
Jamie's highest ranking in that partnership prior to Wimbledon 2015, WR 26.
Runner up at Wimbledon & US Open 2015, ended year and partnership WR 7.
Slam QF or better: 2 RU, 1 QF, in total 3 out of 11.

Partnering Bruno Soares start of 2016 to present:
In first year 2 Slam titles at the Australian Open and US Open. And end of year #1 pair.
Almost constantly personally in the top 10 with a personal high of WR 1 and low of WR 14 in their time together.
Never again past Slam QF after 2016 but overall Slam QF or better record: Titles 2, QFs 6 ( incl last 3 prior to the current French Open ), in total 8 out of 13.

As I said, clearly his best years have been with Bruno, from age 29 to 33. And while they may have suffered against expectations after 2016 they remained a top level pair, currently individually ranked 8 Jamie, 7 Bruno and #8 pair in the race though just 240 points behind #3.

When previously discussed ( and this has gone back more than a year ) I have been against them splitting up given much of the above and "better the devil you know ..."

The time may now have naturally come for some of the reasons given by Jon above and it maybe just feels time.

Well done to both. And onwards ...

Jamie Murray will like that score for sure, that's quite a pasting for Luke and Jonny!
