Having spent 5 hours on the train and 1 hour in the car and therefore not able to see anything but live scores, I am interested to know what has brought you to that opinion.  Did he choke on BPs or something ?  Just curious.

He was 4-1 up in that 2nd set....he also had a break point in the first game of Chardy's serve in set 5. I did initially comment that Kyle would have no chance. Courier was talking a lot of sense, he started counting Kyle's poor shot selection in set 5 -although think he only counted one such shot. Courier was saying the top guys rarely hit shots they haven't thought about.

I wouldn't say choked, what I would say and we all know it - it's lack of confidence and possibly also lack of court presence (again). No big roar. Just the odd fist pump now and again.

Forecast tomorrow isn't brilliant (scattered showers) and there is no roof here so getting everything played + start of the doubles matches may prove tricky.

Edited to add - yes, he ddint run out of puff this time which is something positive.

Thanks for the perspective.   Sadly for me, I am working tomorrow so won't get to see the finale unless rain puts it back to late evening.  Hoping Kyle can get over the line. It would do wonders for his confidence.

Kyle also got booed when leaving the court but that's the French crowd for you *shrug*

In the variety of possible ways of deciding singles final sets the French Open is the single remaining Slam with no TB at any stage in that final set.

I agree that the biggest danger now is Kyle getting caught 'cold' in his opening service game on the resumption. A strong mindset here could be very important

Whatever ( and please let it be a Kyle win! ) it seems to have been much more encouraging than some recent performances and particularly good to read that he was still going strong after 4 hours.

He should take that as a complement.

Personally I think that's a bit harsh.  Ok he played a couple of poor shots in that long service game in the second set which he lost, and of course that led to him losing the set.  But I thought Kyle played a good game overall.  Chardy was serving out of his skin at times and hitting lines for fun.  It felt like Kyle was playing not just his opponent, but also the crowd, the net, the lines all of which seemed to be going Chardy's way.  I thought he did a great job hanging in there and really hope he can finish it off tomorrow.

 A complement to what?

I went for two out of three of our guys to win. (Ultra optimistic said some, and maybe true.....)

But that was with Cam losing to Nick K.

So given the fact that I think Cam will beat Elliott Ben., I realise now that, by default, I am rather in a three out of three position, like it or not.....

oops.....

But, hey, now's the time, fellas !

Mind you, big fan of Jeremy Chardy - and he's married a Brit and pays his taxes in the UK.....

Add: and Cam is getting destroyed :(

Add 2: Has just lost the first set 3-6 cry

Think I'd have preferred Nick and his potential retirement / tanking antics...

Can Benchetrit keep up this level for a third set ? Everything he tries is coming off, he's finding the corners with his big hitting, and Cam just hasn't got any answers.
