RIP Terry Venables.

The 1996 Euros was one of the most exciting from an England point of view and that 4-1 win over the Netherlands lives long in the memory. Sad to see him pass away.

I went to England v Holland ( as we always called them in 1996!), what a match, and also England v Scotland earlier in the tournament - two best football events Ive ever been to.

Ive only just checked the Scottish Cup draw and seen The Spartans have Hearts at home in January. Thats a big match for Spartans!

Yes, they beat Championship side Arbroath to get through. Doubt it will be played at Ainslie Park, capacity 3600. Probably end up being at Easter Road. My best mate is a big Hearts fan so this could be fun.

The Arbroath manager, Dick Campbell, has resigned after 7 years in charge, with it not been going well in the league either. Pity as he has had them hugely punching above their weight during his time and they were close to getting into the Premiership after the 21/22 season.

Yup the last 18 mths have been turgid, despite him being one of our best managers ever it was time to go. Id like to see us get Stewart Petrie from Montrose but will be interesting to see who we get. As long as we don't go into freefall like brechin.

Playing at Easter Road would make sense - are Spartans more aligned fan base with to Hibs than Hearts? Could get a decent proxy for a Hibs and Hearts derby if so!

Going to Wetherby Road tomorrow to see Town play Wrexham. Standing 15th, strange season so far and Wrexham are, as youd expect, doing well and, probably, clear favourites to not only beat town but go up.

Expecting a good crowd though - got over 3000 last home match and maybe beat it tomorrow.

Bolton away in the cup on Saturday - not expecting more than a drubbing; lets just hope its not like the Blackburn match in the Carabao earlier this year, 8 goals past us would not be pleasant!

I don't know but it's a fair guess that their fans will be more aligned with Hibs with Leith being just along the road.

They could give 'Sunshine on Leith' a rendition anyway

Crowd was 3,767 last night - not quite a record and Ryan Reynolds never appeared but, nonetheless, an entertaining match and Harrogate played well to come from behind, dominate the second half and look the most likely winners at the end.

Clear penalty denied as well, 5 mins to go, just wish we had VAR down in EFL2!!
