I think no threads were put up this time because, like last weeks Saudi event which Cam played (as he did this event as well) they are just exhibitions and therefore dont have official status. There are lots of exhibitions through the year incl events in Britain like Boodles etc that dont have threads.

Hopefully the camp in family, agents etc don't interfere much at all in the player-coach telationship and just let it develop and hopefully flourish.

Some of what Tursunov said re 'too many voices' did sound to me possibly very true bearing in mind earlier signs.

May it be a year of really solid development after the ( always to me ) unpredictable 2022

Very good to hear that both she played well and was apparently perfectly fit after the wrist injury so hopefully getting in some good close season work with the new coach.

A bit more news about the new coach. Sebastian Sachs, never heard of him (not that that means much!). Perhaps, since he's only 30, he'll connect better with Emma & manage to keep the family & other interferers at bay...

Only just watched it as someone kindly put up a Youtube video of the match in Emma's section on TennisForum.

I thought Emma's aggressive approach was encouraging. Her return of Jabeur's 2nd serve was good most of the time, backhand down the line better than expected, a couple of delightful volleys though a shocking drive volley miles long. Lost the vast majority of the longer rallies, serve ok but lacking the good serves at key moments that featured in her Slam run.

Naomi Osaka's mental health issues are well documented, the Times article says she played a reduced schedule last year yet is top of the earnings tables because of working with 20(!) corporate partners. I dont follow Naomi much, does she attract criticism for this in the way that Emma has?
