I agree. I've said before I hope she builds her ranking more naturally than taking PRs and WCs to the 1000s and 500s. But with the AO 3 weeks into the new season I fear we are going to be disappointed as she's not going to go into a GS having played a couple of 60ks and I don't think she'll play those anyway. With the new rules next year prohibiting top 30 players entering 250s in weeks when there is a 500, she's not going to get into the season opener 500s in Brisbane and Adelaide with her PR as they'll be strong, so she'll have to rely on a WC if she wants to play those. Her other options are United Cup, Auckland and a new 125 in Canberra in the opening week, and Hobart in week 2. If I were choosing her schedule, it would be Canberra and Hobart.

That would seem sensible, Id keep out of the limelight in the United Cup as well where the media will be stronger and the scrutiny higher from tennis and non tennis fans. Canberra and Hobart will be lower key and decent level Of tennis as well. Is she still playing the exho in Macau mentioned a week or two ago , or is that Joe canned?

Nothing Emma does is ever going to be low key or out of the limelight, that ship sailed in September 2021.  If she does enter Canberra and Hobart, the tournament director will be milking it and quite rightly.

I believe Emma has an exhibition match 2nd December. Checking the calander there is then a couple of 125k events in December in France. Perfect level and timing. Would be amazed if it happened though!

Emma is still on the Macau website and social. Nothing to say she has withdrawn from that one.

Agree. She won't go under the radar, and has been active on Weibo during her time in China. Think she is back in the UK now? Could be wrong.

no, agreed - I just think the United Cup, representing GB etc is at another level with media focus and level of players etc. And losing a match there would get folks talking more on the social media forums more than somewhere quieter, just a thought.

Doesnt really matter, her profile is high regardless

I would like to see Emma link up with Andrew Richardson again to take her through some lower pre AO tournaments and the AO. He supported her so well in her build up to the US Open and knows her weaknesses. I dont think its the time for a bruiser of a coach now!

Just ruddy get a proper stable coaching situation set up and stick with it for a while. And stop letting people round about you try to reinvent the wheel. Good consistent coaching relationships matter - often decisively! ( eg. Andy and Lendl plus many others).

In just about every other regard, as folk can maybe tell, I am one of Emma's biggest supporters with very little doubt about her ability or commitment and little interest in the 'noise' around her re other matters.

Looks like Naomi Osaka has turned down an invitation to compete in the ASB Classic 2024 - apparently, the tournament director is still waiting to hear from Emma's camp. With Gauff, Wozinaki et al. this looks very stacked to me for a comeback gig.

A quick search on Google gives a number of results. Carlo Agostinelli - son of a billionaire former Goldman Sachs banker.
