Naomi Osaka's mental health issues are well documented, the Times article says she played a reduced schedule last year yet is top of the earnings tables because of working with 20(!) corporate partners. I dont follow Naomi much, does she attract criticism for this in the way that Emma has?

Also, sort of the same point, I'd just like to point out that Netflix is doing a mega glam lifestyle, fashion, 'televised instagram' little docu-series about some top tennis players - and it doesn't include Emma !!!!

Interesting article - does anyone have a link which circumvents the paywall?

Somebody archived it a week ago, but it can't have been anyone in here, as no link has appeared, so I thought I'd do Sheddie's job for him!  wink

I read somewhere that Emma had politely declined to feature.

Yes, just saw that, a 250 with  a not especially daunting field  - good choice?

Although its not been reflected in results and the injuries and niggles etc I actually think Emma looks stronger physically and her body has developed more as you would expect naturally with her age. I can see her getting back into the top 50 barring any injuries fairly soon. Some smart scheduling to get wins at weaker WTA events is the order here. Then Wimbledon and US Open she can force her way and hit the front.

Emma has a WC for Indian Wells. She probably won't need it as she's currently only 3 out of making the draw anyway.

Interesting stat in the Telegraph the other day after Kovinic win.  Emma has only played 46 matches since her US Open win. Most players would be in the 80's. Of the leading British players Jodie has played  the most with 85. Harriet played 79, Katie B. 78, Heather 74 and Katie Swan 58.

This did not happen as Emma was looking after her body before her first match at Indian Wells

im putting this here as , well, it seems Emma would be our most likely candidate

Next gen finals bids taking place for this year onwards (may be moving from Turin) and womens field looks likely

Id like Britain to bid for this - remember, the hosts get a wild card entry and it has become an interesting and very accessible and watchable event, to me at least
