Emma Raducanu

I've just looked at the 'Andy Murray' section of this board, and would be happy to have something similar for Emma.

We could also think about calling it the Emma Raducanu message board, I think the original idea to call it the Andrew Murray message board was to generate more traffic.

Somehow that feels wrong to me, at least at this stage. Maybe when Andy retires.

I think it should be GB tennis board or similar. We don't just talk about Andy. We don't now just talk about Emma

Good to see you looking in Steven, and sorry I missed you.

The URL of the board is britishtennis, so why not the British Tennis Board ?

And a whole section on Emma sounds a good idea - so long as she isn't as unfortunate as Laura.

Ive always called it the British tennis board to be fair and found it as such initially. I always thought there was a separate, specific Andy Murray forum elsewhere ?

 There is... https://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums

I've always called it the British Tennis activeboard.

The link is Andrew Murray message board on the top left. Not that I call it that.

I joined in July 2005. I believe the forum was a few months old at that point. It was called the Andy Murray message board and all the posts were about Andy. There were other forums and message boards that covered a wider group of British tennis players, such as British Tennis Zone and the Greg Rusedski board. I can't remember when GBtennisgirls board appeared.

Anyway, over time, contributors from those other forums started posting on here, bringing with them their knowledge and interest in other British players, so new sections were added to this message board. Sheddie also did websites for British tennis players he knew including Jamie Baker, Colin Fleming and Alexander Slabinski (spelling ?), in the hope of finding sponsors for them.

An individual section for Emma, where people could discuss her, makes sense to me. 76 pages about Jo Konta is overwhelming, especially if you are trying to find something that you vaguely recall being posted on here but can't recall where. Sometimes using search helps and sometimes it doesn't.

Emma's outfit at the Met Gala (like the Oscars but for fashion) - other tennis players attending included Sharapova, the Williams sisters, Fernandez, Auger-Aliassime, Osaka (who was a host).

#MetGala News: The following celebrities will be seated at the CHANEL table and will be wearing CHANEL:

Kristen Stewart
Lily-Rose Depp
Margaret Qualley
Whitney Peak
Pharrell Willams + Helen Williams
Emma Raducanu

I was going to suggest the same thing.

Id happily leave the board for good if it was called the Emma Raducanu Message Board. Really?

she did great but this board, for me , is about following the Brits and their progress across all the various tour levels, not about one person , wherever it may have its historical roots.

folks Im sure could go off and start an Emma R forum - there may even be one out there now?

a special section is fine , as per above , and for any other player who achieves something like that would be deserving- but the board I visit is a British Tennis Board.

if Dan Evans wins the Aussie Open, id feel exactly the same if someone suggested a Dan Evans section - great. But not a Dan Evans board!

I agree with Jon on this. Special section I can get behind. If folk want more traffic to the board, then they will need to use keywords and other background key words, search results etc to get it and/or updating the look and feel of it to be more modern (although I like it how it is).

It's a dis-service to call it after one player when the majority of the board likely follow a variety of Brits (& to some extent, non-Brits such as Muguruza or those who are British but don't play for GB).

I understand why it carries Andy's name, but it's such a broad forum now that if it's to be re-named, it should definitely be a broader name, like British Tennis. Then it would truly reflect the contents. Please don't name it after another player (not just Emma, anyone). A separate section for Emma or any other player warranting it, sounds like a good idea to me.
