There is obviously rain here today, always a nuisance on the slow drying 'carpet'. QR1 matches start postponed to 3 pm, though it's not clear they have started, and FQR tomorrow. Only EWS in potential action today.
Looks like Bucsa has jut pipped Katy into the 8th seed. Katy is 8th highest on the 'Acceptance List', but Bucsa's run in France 60k may have done the damage.
Plenty of opportunities for the 6 qualifiers - 3 Qs are to play MDWCs (although one was only 3 off getting in and higher ranked than both SBG and Eden), there's also the lowest ranked IR and the only one of the 5 without a WTA ranking. More familiar names Galfi and 7th seed Bolkvadze would be tougher, but our 3 have all got to get through first before thinking of ideal placings.
Last week's France 60K will not have affected seedings for this week since it is the previous week's rankings that apply, in this case going back 2 weeks to the 18/03 pre Miami rankings.
The 18/03 rankings are Dunne WR 301 and Bucsa WR 297, boosted by France 25K Q plus SF 19 points being added then ( and Katy dropping 5 net points ), leaving Katy just missing out on a seeding. And then drawing the #3 seed to boot.
Eden and EWS now both playing... and have work to do.
Eden a break down at 3-4*
Emily, a poor start to the Cambodian (their one and only as far as I know) *1-4
