I'll be interested to see the Sunderland entry list after all the automatic withdrawals. There are so many ITF events that week - there's a 60k in Turkey which a lot of our higher ranked players are going for, a 25k+H in France as well as reasonably nearby Tunisia (from a typical European players POV), 25ks in Italy, Portugal, HK, USA and Japan meaning these will generally have much lower direct entries.

I'm thinking of going up to Sunderland for a couple of days so have even more interest, and doing a quick check on the initial entry list, of the 13 in the main draw, only Thandi is likely to play here and 11 will be in the main draw of higher priority events. Hesse might end up in Sunderland as she is first alt in one of her higher preferences, so we'll have to see what happens there, but there's a good chance that we'll have a fair few in the main draw by right, which should in turn save WCs for the usual suspects and give younger players another chance to play and with the generally weaker field, a good opportunity to do something.

So 9 events between 25-80k that week, yet just 2 the week after.

And now, Thandi, the one player in the main draw who had it as P1, has just withdrawn, so the highest ranked player could well be 237. Marcinkevica, who has just lost to Eden today, could also be a high seed.

Alright then, another bump but only because it'll be the first event I attend this year :)

I was just wondering what would happen in Katy Dunne's situation? She is currently 10 off getting in to the Sunderland main draw and in all likelihood with all the forecasted withdrawals, she should get in directly. That is her Priority 2. She is also one off getting into Istanbul 60k Qs (her Priority 1) and pretty certain to make quals, but probably unlikely to make the main draw - what happens there in the automatic withdrawal system - does Qs in her P1 (a bigger event) take precedence over MD in her P2, or vice versa?

I see Robin Anderson (currently in France 60k) has just withdrawn from her P1 in the US, but remains in the Sunderland list (her P2), so she'll likely be the top seed here.

Edit - same for Naomi, although she is a bit higher up on the Istanbul Qs list, so would have more chance of sneaking into the main draw, albeit quite unlikely.

1. PROCEDURE
If a player is accepted into the Main Draw or Qualifying of more than one
Womens ITF World Tennis Tour Tournament or ITF World Tennis Tour

Yeah, noticed that. Still currently showing as in Obidos and in the main draw there (P4), so perhaps it just automatically withdrew from both, even though she would have got into Sunderland, or perhaps, there's a delay and she'll not play at all that week.

Harriet and Katie S have joined Katie B in withdrawing from Istanbul, so that tournament has taken a big hit regarding our interest. Harriet still in Sunderland and Katie S in Calvi, so unless it's still updating and they'll be removed from those, perhaps they just want to be nearer London for the Fed Cup.

Yes, that's what I have noticed. Katy's withdrawals were actual, not automatic.

Yep, Jodie is officially in now. Those 4 I mentioned as well as Gerlach have been removed, so Jodie is 13th on the list. Isn't that great, 4 of the 13 are from GB and the last seed is currently 270 so it's not the strongest entry list in the world.

A bit disappointed that Ponchet withdrew herself from from Calvi 25k+H earlier today which was initially a higher priority for her, but from her POV, she is in Bolton the week before and has had previous success this year in GB 25k's, so it makes sense, but obviously a tougher player for someone to eventually get past.

Not really sure what they will do for WCs now. We've currently got 9 in the Quals list, so they will likely come from there and then that should in turn send Sacha, K Pitak and Popescu into quals, to leave 8 + 5 QWCs, so there should be a heavy GB presence here and plenty of opportunities to get a few wins.
