I didn't think they had any indoor courts. Anyway, the rain cleared before lunch.
Yes, you're right they don't. Matches were delayed because of the rain, and the FQR matches postponed. Still haven't seen any scores for the QR1 matches though.
The scores have suddenly all appeared Good effort from Tara though, taking the match to a MTB. Lissey will also need one more good win to gain a point...

Oh dear, and really bad MD draws... Gabi plays the 2nd seed, and Katy plays her conqueror from last week. These draws are looking tougher and tougher for Gabi to get points back at the moment.

In the doubles Katy (with Sramkova), Gabi (with Akiko Omae), Tara (with Emina Bektas), and even Sam Murray (with Al Nabhani) are all playing. (Sam had been 10th alt on the singles list)
Katy + play the top seeds, Sam + play the 4th seeds, Tara + are the 3rd seeds, and Gabi + play an unranked pair.
As for Gabi here, just seen she's withdrawn from Kofu week of 25/3. There is still a really strong field here that week... but a really weak one in Canberra the same week, which she is not entered for.. I know the dates didn't work so well, but still wished she gone back to Aus for some of their tournaments at this period... sigh
I remembered Sramkova being a high seed as well last week but going out at the first hurdle, then realised it was eventual champ Minnen who dropped one less game when beating Gabi in the next round.
Katy obviously has a very tough match match in Ruse and didn't get much joy last week and if she did manage to pull it off, she'd have Sramkova/Gabi in the next round so it's just not great.
Hibi has generally been in poor form since the grass season and is in a lower ranking than she'll be used to, but has a lot more experience than Fran and even though, like Osaka, she has been in the States from an early age, she technically has home advantage as well. Would be happy with one win from that lot.
I am quite confident Jodie will come through her FQR, not so much Alicia, but if one or both come through, their options are:
Top seed Gramm... who Jodie beat in either Shrewsbury or Glasgow.
An IR
Q vs Q
7th seed Zhang
Minoskoshi
So there could be an opportunity there and that could be our best hope for a 1st round win, but they clearly can't look beyond the FQR matches.
